BUTTER is a multi-day fine art fair that centers the care and economic viability of Black visual artists from Indiana and across the country. BUTTER is organized by GANGGANG as an experiment for a more equitable art industry. 

BUTTER is America’s equitable fine art fair. Anchored in Indianapolis, BUTTER is the no-commission fair for Black artists.

Yes! Students 18 and under have free admission to BUTTER and do not need to purchase tickets. Students simply need to obtain a wristband at check-in prior to entering the fair.

Yes! The goal is to sell or loan 100% of the artworks in the exhibition and to grow the market of art art collectors. 100% of the sales proceeds go back to the artists.

MELT is BUTTER’s hottest dance party, taking place on BUTTER Saturday from 10pm to 2am. Expect the best DJs, dancers, hosts, and vibes in the city.

BUTTER in Indianapolis takes place on Labor Day Weekend, and is open to ticketed guests on Thursday – Sunday of the holiday weekend. The inaugural BUTTER LA takes place February 26 – March 1, 2026 at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. 

Tickets for BUTTER LA are available now! Tickets for BUTTER in Indianapolis will go on sale in June 2026. 

Adults 18 and older are welcome and encouraged to sign up to volunteer at BUTTER. 

BUTTER is a curated fair. Exhibiting artists for the inaugural BUTTER LA have already been selected by our curatorial team. To be considered for BUTTER 2026 in Indianapolis, artists are encouraged to submit portfolios at the link below.

GANGGANG, a cultural development and creative advocacy firm, is responsible for creating BUTTER, alongside a dedicated team of  creative entrepreneurs and volunteers.

BUTTER Fine Art Fair believes in access to art experiences for everyone, including students 18 and under, who do not need a ticket for entry.
