BUTTER is North America’s equitable fine art fair. Anchored in Indianapolis, BUTTER is the no-commission fair for Black artists.
Yes! Students under 18 have free admission to BUTTER and do not need to purchase tickets via Eventbrite. Students under 18 simply need to obtain a wristband at check-in prior to entering the fair.
Yes! BUTTER 2024 features a kids zone! Shout out to alum artist Ess McKee leadership on youth access and education this year.
Yes! The goal is to sell or loan 100% of the artworks in the exhibition and to grow the market of art art collectors. 100% of the sales proceeds go back to the artists.
Yes. All attendees will get a wristband to wear all weekend and come back all 3 days
(4 days if you go to Preview Night).
We get pretty fabulous on Preview Night as it’s Indy’s night of the year. BUTTER is where you can wear your favorite outfit or the one you’ve been saving.
MELT is BUTTER’s dance party. It’s Saturday night from 9pm to 2am at the Vogue with a breakfast bar this year.
The Stutz is handicap accessible, yes!
Street parking is available, as well as free parking (thanks to IU Health) on the corner of 11th and Senate, and 10th and Capitol.

BUTTER takes place on Labor Day Weekend, and is open to ticketed guests on Thursday, August 29 (Preview Night), and Friday, September 30 – Sunday, September 1.
BUTTER is happening again this year on the Stutz campus as well as outdoors on 10th street, and across the street into a formerly vacant property. BUTTER happens in the Indiana Avenue cultural district in downtown Indianapolis.
Tickets are available now.
General Admission tickets are $40, which includes unlimited access to three different days and experiences on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Preview Night tickets for Thursday are $150 and includes General Admission weekend return access. Add MELT tickets as an add-on for Saturday night at $25. Students 18 and under can attend BUTTER on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at no cost.
Adults 18 and above can sign up to volunteer.
BUTTER is a curated fair. Exhibiting artists for 2024 have been selected. To be considered for BUTTER 2025, artists are encouraged to submit portfolios at the link.
GANGGANG, a cultural development and creative advocacy firm, is responsible for creating BUTTER, a creative entrepreneurs and volunteers.
BUTTER Fine Art Fair believes in access to art experiences for everyone, including students 18 and under, who do not need a ticket for entry.
BUTTER is a cultural phenomenon. BUTTER invites questioning and introspection, creating a space where art is not just viewed, but rather celebrated. Come to BUTTER to see, laugh, cry, dance, sing, and sip cocktails.
