BUTTER's First Expansion

BUTTER at Indy’s Home Court was the first expansion of BUTTER, elevating 29 Black artists in the national conversation during NBA All-Star Weekend. This basketball-inspired edition of BUTTER brought grand energy and intentional curation to the All-Star experience from February 16-18 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden.

Malina Simone Bacon and Alan Bacon, founders of GANGGANG and BUTTER, served as curators for the fair alongside BUTTER Fine Art Fair Director, Deonna Craig. Kia Davis returned to the curatorial team as a guest curator, along with first-time guest curator, Alan Mills.

BUTTER at Indy’s Home Court brought a unique focus to the intersection of sports and culture. The Eighteen Art Collective anchored this edition of BUTTER, representing 18 of the 29 exhibition artists. We welcomed past BUTTER All-Stars and exciting new talent from Indiana, Washington D.C., New York, Georgia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
