BUTTER Fine Art Fair powered by AES Indiana returns August 28–31 for its fifth iteration, celebrating the work of established, independent, and emerging Black artists from Indiana and across the country as part of a new model for care and economic justice in the arts.

Dedicated to transforming artist mindsets and careers, BUTTER is a no-commission fair that works to maximize artist earnings by selling or loaning 100% of the exhibition, giving 100% of the proceeds from art sales to the artists. Artists pay no fee to participate and guests under 18 pay no fee to enter the immersive three-day event.

Year five marks a major milestone for BUTTER Fine Art Fair. This year we will surpass $1 million in artwork sales. This year we will surpass 200 artists on the BUTTER roster. This year we will welcome 15,000 people over three days to immerse themselves in a fine art fair focused on remembrance, resiliency, resistance.

General Admission tickets cost $50 per person, which includes unlimited access Friday, August 29 – Sunday, August 31. Preview Night tickets are $175 for Thursday, August 28 (6-8 p.m.), which includes General Admission return access.  New in 2025 is the opportunity to buy a VIP PASS for $400, which includes 5 p.m. entry  to Preview Night on Thursday, in addition to General Admission returns, BUTTER Loft: VIP lounge access + drink tickets (Friday, August 29 – Sunday, August 31), a MELT ticket (Saturday, August 30), an exclusive BUTTER activation, an exhibition t-shirt, and a listing on the GANGGANG donor page.

Students under 18 are encouraged to attend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for free, no registration required.

Since its inception in 2021, BUTTER Fine Art Fair has welcomed more than 46,000 attendees and 189 artists who have sold more than $900,000 worth of artwork, including 24 BUTTER artwork acquisitions by 11 major institutions for permanent collections. BUTTER reserves 50% of its exhibition space for Indiana-based artists.
