GANGGANG BREAKS ARTWORK SALES AND ATTENDANCE RECORDS WITH MOST SUCCESSFUL BUTTER FINE ART FAIR YET, ANNOUNCING EXPANSION TO LOS ANGELES IN FEBRUARY
104 artworks sold for $192,247, marking new BUTTER milestone with $1,163,947 in total artwork sales to date; 100% of artwork sales go to artists thanks to no-commission, no-censorship model
INDIANAPOLIS (September 3, 2025) – Organized by cultural development firm GANGGANG, the fifth anniversary BUTTER Fine Art Fair exhibition presented the work of 50 exhibiting artists, two galleries, and six curators, as a commitment to growing the arts ecosystem in Indianapolis and beyond. Taking place August 29–September 1, this year’s fair spotlighted the talent and perspectives of emerging, independent, and established artists from cities in Indiana, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Milwaukee, Louisville, Detroit, and London, England.
BUTTER 2025 ARTWORK SALES
– 104 artworks sold, totaling $192,247
– In addition to BUTTER sales, Los Angeles-based gallery Art Melanated sold three (3) pieces totaling $18,000 and Wisconsin-based Mahogany Gallery sold two (2) pieces totaling $5,720
– $1,981 average sales price per artwork
BUTTER 2025 NOTABLE SALES + ACQUISITIONS
– Tyrese Haliburton, of the Indiana Pacers, acquired two (2) pieces, his second piece by Israel Solomon and his first piece by Chicago-based artist Blake Lenoir
– Author John Green acquired two (2) pieces, one by Houston-based artist Kaima Marie Akarue and one (1) by Houston-based artist Lovie Olivia
– The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette acquired one (1) piece by Kevin West entitled Nanna’s Kitchen 2, 2025
– Five-time BUTTER artist Indianapolis-native Gary Gee sold a record 34 pieces
– London-based artist Sonia Barrett sold seven (7) pieces
– First-time BUTTER artist Jakia March sold six (6) pieces
– Louisville-based artist Brochevski (Amai Rawls Jr.) sold six (6) pieces
– Kevin West sold four (4) pieces
– Houston-based artist Asia Estelle sold two (2) pieces, in addition to taking home BUTTER’s inaugural Alan Mills “Best in Show” Award for her Hair Vessel series
