BUTTER happens within the Indiana Avenue Cultural District and is proud to honor the significant history within this arts community. Indiana history lover, Sampson Levingston, from Through2Eyes joins the Fair to share of the city’s history and tell why it’s so important to have Black art (back) in this neighborhood. These LABOR DAY WEEKEND ONLY Walk & Talks will focus on the neighborhood that was between Crispus Attucks High School and The Stutz Building. Around 75 years ago there were plenty of Black homes, schools, churches and businesses in the area. Join Sampson and take a deep dive into what happened and why.
Five public, outdoor tours will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at 30 minutes each.
These tours are FREE with your ticket to BUTTER but please RSVP below.
